3.11 understand how the developing embryo is protected by amniotic fluid
Once an ovum has been fertilized, it will develop into an embryo which will implant into the uterus. It is at this point that the amnion membrane forms. This is full of amniotic fluid and surrounds the embryo, protecting it against any knocks and bumps :)
