2.77 understand that organisms are able to respond to changes in their environment
Plants and animals both increase their chance of survival by responding to changes in their surroundings. For example, plants grow towards the sun to maximise the amount of light they absorb, meaning more photosynthesis. One stimuli animals respond to is a change in temperature. For example, if it is hot you will sweat, if it is cold your hairs stand up (this is to help regulate the body temperature to 37ÂșC).
